Andreas Christophorus Clamer (1633-1701) This edition is based on a copy of the original 1682 edition from the Bibliotecque Nationale de France. The original comprises four separate parts; there is no score. The parts are labeled Violino I, Violino II, Viola di Gamba, and Violono o Viola di Gamba. The viola di gamba part is generally independent of the violono part. There are no figures in the original violono part but they have been added in the score of this edition. The piece is in the form of a suite, with sections labeled Lamento, Gigue, Sarabanda, Balletto, Lamento, and Saltarello. View a sample page. |
